8 Top Movers is a mover comparison service, not a moving company. We publish Top Movers, our editorial list of long-distance moving companies. When you ask us to, we share your move details — route, home size, and date — with the licensed movers in our network so they can price your move, and we bring their written estimates to you. You choose which mover to use, or none. Who receives your name, phone, and email is set out in Who we share it with. How Top Movers works, and how we choose the movers we feature, is described in our methodology and disclosure.

When you request quotes, the form asks for:

• your first and last name, email address, and phone number
• the origin and destination ZIP codes of your move
• the type of move, your estimated move date, and, optionally, your home size
• whether you are also interested in portable storage

We do not ask for, or collect, a street address.

When you submit the form we also record:

• your IP address and browser user-agent — kept with the submission as part of the consent record, and used for rate limiting
• the page you arrived from and standard campaign parameters on the link that brought you here (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content, gclid)

We set two first-party cookies:

• 8tm_slot— set when you visit a ranked company’s page or a quote URL that names that company. It is cleared if you start a site-wide visit (the homepage or a quote page that does not name a company). It records which ranked listing this visit arrived through. It is not readable by scripts and is not used for advertising.
• 8tm_quote_handoff — set when you enter ZIP codes on the home page. It holds those two ZIP codes and the kind of move so the estimate form can fill them in, and it expires after 10 minutes. It is not used for advertising.

The browser’s session storage holds a flag so the exit prompt is not shown twice in a visit, and the ad click ID and campaign parameters (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, fbclid and utm_*) from the link that brought you here, so a later estimate request can be attributed to it. Both clear when you close the tab. When Google Ads conversion measurement is enabled for this site, we also load Google’s conversion tag so we can tell Google that a quote request completed. That tag is used only for conversion attribution and bid optimization for our own ads — not for third-party retargeting audiences. When Google Tag Manager is configured for a deployment, we also load a Tag Manager container so we can measure site analytics (for example Google Analytics 4) that marketing configures in that workspace. Tag Manager does not replace the Ads conversion tag on this site. When those tags are not configured, the corresponding scripts are not loaded.

When you submit the form, your request goes to our moving team, which gets rates from the licensed movers in our network. The exact language shown on the form, reproduced here so the two cannot differ, is:

Your name, phone, and email go only to our moving team, which we run with our affiliated mover, Global Elegance Moving and Logistics. The other movers listed here never receive them.

Global Elegance Moving and Logistics shares ownership with 8 Top Movers. Our moving team works your request in Global Elegance’s own customer-management software, so your full request, including your name, phone, and email, is held in that software as well as by us.

With the other licensed movers in our network, we share only your move details — origin and destination ZIP codes, home size, and move date — so they can price your move. We bring their written estimates to you, and you choose which mover to use.

The featured movers on our home page are our top picks and affiliated movers in our network, and our moving team gets rates from the licensed movers in our network. You never pay us, and using 8 Top Movers does not raise your price. The other movers we list are independent businesses operating under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your contact details to an open marketplace or to data brokers.

Service providers that process data for us, and what each does:

• Supabase — application hosting and database
• Cloudflare Turnstile — bot challenge on the quote form
• Twilio Lookup — checks that a submitted phone number is reachable
• NeverBounce — checks that a submitted email address is deliverable
• Resend — transactional email (your confirmation message)
• Vercel — web hosting and request logs
• Google Ads — conversion measurement when a quote request completes (only if the tag is configured for this deployment)
• Google Tag Manager — loads only when configured; used to deliver analytics tags (such as Google Analytics 4) that we manage for this site. It does not sell your quote details.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We keep lead and consent records for as long as needed to operate the service and to evidence the consent you gave, then delete or de-identify them.

This site is for adults arranging moves. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
