8 Top Movers is not a moving company. We are a moving concierge: you tell us the route once, we put the job through our network of eight, they send pricing to us, and you choose which mover to go with. They never receive your name, phone, or email. We publish who those movers are, how we judge them, and exactly how we are paid — because a comparison is only worth trusting when the incentives behind it are on the record.

Movers pay to compete for your business. You never pay us.
01
What we are, and what we are not
We run a comparison desk. We own no trucks, employ no crews, and never transport a single box. What we do is narrower and, we think, more useful: we keep a short list of licensed movers, we put the job — not your phone or email — through that network, they send pricing to us, you choose the mover, and we publish an editorial ranking of them under one set of criteria.
Not a measured rating
We publish no scores, stars, or review counts.
Not a directory
Eight companies, deliberately, so each gets a real write-up.
Not a booking service
We bring you the estimates. You choose the mover. Nothing is booked through us.
02
How a request moves
1
You give us the moving criteria
Route, size of the load, and a date. Your name, phone, and email stay with our desk — the eight companies never receive them.
2
We put the job through our network of eight
They see the moving details only. They send their pricing to us, not to you. No one on the list gets your contact data.
3
You choose the mover and the price
We bring you the estimates. You decide which company to go with. Requesting estimates is never a booking.
03
How we are paid
Plainly: moving companies pay us to have your business. They pay for a listing, and they pay when we put your job through our network of eight. You never pay us, and using this desk does not increase the quote. They send pricing to us. You choose the mover. They never receive your contact data. That pay does not buy a higher number in the editorial ranking. Requesting a quote commits you to nothing.
An advertiser can buy
A listing — a company page, a position among the eight placements on our homepage, and the chance to price jobs attributed to that listing — disclosed as paid on every surface where it appears.
An advertiser cannot buy
A higher number in the editorial ranking, the criteria, the wording of a write-up, or the removal of a disclosure.
8 Top Movers is an advertising-supported comparison service. Rankings reflect our editorial judgment applied to pricing transparency, claims handling, delivery reliability, and customer experience. They are our opinion, not a measured rating, and we do not publish per-company scores or review counts. Moving companies pay us to compete for your business — for a listing, and when we put your job through our network of eight. You never pay us, and using this desk does not increase the quote. That pay does not buy a higher number. Requesting a quote is a moving-concierge service: we share only moving criteria (route, size, date) with those companies. They send pricing to us. They never receive your name, phone, or email. You choose which mover to go with, based on the estimates. It is never a booking and carries no obligation.
04
The editorial desk
Separately from the paid placements, we publish an ordering of the same carriers — our opinion, applied under one set of criteria, reviewed and dated. It is not for sale, and where a carrier appears in both the placements and the ranking, the two are unrelated. The full method, including what we weigh most, is in the methodology.
01
Pricing transparency
Whether the estimate is written, itemised, and honoured on move day.
02
Claims handling
What actually happens when something arrives damaged, and how long it takes.
03
Delivery reliability
Whether the delivery window given at booking is the one that gets met.
04
Customer experience
Reachability mid-move, and whether one coordinator owns the file.
Every company on our list holds active federal operating authority, printed here from the public record so you can check it yourself on FMCSA SAFER before you commit to anything.
Local and long-distance household moves are the core, and the desk covers the moves that need more than a truck and a crew. Each has its own page and its own estimate request.
