What a senior move involves
Most senior moves go from a full house to a smaller apartment, an independent living unit, or a single room in a care community. The truck is rarely the hard part. The work is in deciding what goes, what stays with family, and what leaves the house another way, and in doing that at a pace the person moving can manage.
The date is often fixed by someone else: a move-in window from the community, a closing date on the house, or a hospital discharge. Adult children may be coordinating from another city. A good plan separates the sorting, which can take weeks, from the move itself, which is a much shorter job for a load this size. Ask each carrier how long they expect the day to run once they have seen the load and the building.
